Drive up the hills ("Las Colinas") overlooking the sea to this elegant, modern and beautifully-furnished villa, towering over a golf course, set in olive groves and boasting fabulous views of mountains, Mediterranean, Gibraltar and North Africa.
Las Colinas lies in a stylish, private and secure urbanisation of luxury villas, just a short drive to shops, beach bars, restaurants and the excellent El Casco tennis club. Several golf courses flank El Rosario, but this villa has its own buggy path leading 150m to the 12th tee of Robert Trent Jones’ excellent Marbella Golf (tennis here also).
Santa Clara is also reachable by buggy, whilst Río Real and Santa María golf courses are both nearby. Central Marbella is twelve minutes away and Puerto Banús only a few more.
For a luxury villa, Las Colinas is well-equipped: balconies, solar energy, under-floor heating, air-conditioning, broadband, satellite TV, 5.1 home "cinema" equipment, a huge kitchen and much more. But there is something else quite exceptional about Las Colinas…
It features a huge garden (over 2 acres, created in early 2008 by a leading international garden designer) with the theme "Transition to Wilderness": from formal planting around the villa, the garden gradually transforms into the natural landscape of the olive-strewn hillside "campo".
Within this oasis lie secluded lawns partially shaded by olive and cork trees, very private sunbathing areas (unseen, yet with wide-reaching views) and what must have been Marbella's "Jacuzzi of the Year, 2008".
Up to 10 can massage their bodies with water, and minds with sunset cocktails, looking south-west to the sea from the rustic spa deck. The summerhouse can be used for outdoor catering with an adjacent pergola-covered patio for al-fresco eating. The whole area is enhanced by wild plants and herbs, stunningly illuminated at night.
The owner has also upgraded and redecorated in and around the villa: new vine- and evergreen-covered pergolas add to privacy, whilst additional shade created from colourful Mediterranean climbing plants cools the verandahs and pool-side terraces.
Inside, silk fabrics brought back from India last year add colour and warmth to the living areas (NB Indian bedspreads are removed where children sleep.)
The incredible views and romantic gardens make this ideal for honeymoons, small weddings, family holidays, golfers, entertaining and for cultural, educational & artistic vacations.
Golf parties are particularly encouraged, not just because of the golf-in golf-out feature of the house (you may play 18 holes starting and finishing at the villa by arrangement), but also because the owner (an acclaimed golf writer and photographer) is able to arrange discounted green fees all along the coast.

Built on three levels the property comprises:
Entrance & Ground Floor:
Hall (with Yamaha Clavinova digital piano), leading to guest cloakroom,
snug/TV room with surround-sound 32” SAT TV & DVD,
leading into a very large, open plan, airy living room/dining area
decorated with Indian silks.
Furnished with Bösendorfer grand piano, open fireplace,

32” TV and sliding patio doors opening onto the terraces,
gardens, pergolas and pool area.
The spacious, fully-equipped kitchen with double door American-style fridge/freezer, dishwasher, microwave, etc., plus metres of work tops, is a chef’s dream! There are also superb views (and a small TV) to stare at as you perform culinary wonders. In-house catering may be arranged, if you prefer.
First Floor: A bright and large landing (with a golf library, chess corner and desk with computer printer) leads off to four comfortable suites, all with luxuriously designed marble bath/walk-in shower rooms.
The Master & adjacent suite have sliding terrace doors which lead onto spacious balconies with amazing widespread sea and mountain views.
The two other double bedrooms on this level (one with a balcony) also have views of the sea, hills and surrounding countryside. Three of these four bedrooms may be presented as either super-king double or twin rooms (with an extra bed possible in the Master Dressing Room); the other is a double.
Lower Level: Two more bedrooms (super-king double or twin, to your preference) share a spacious marble bathroom with walk-in shower and laundry facilities. One of these rooms is the largest bedroom in the villa and may be presented with two further single beds - and also features a sofa and TV.
The double garage may be accessed from this level.

In this difficult year, the owner has significantly reduced the rent, and gives you the choice of restricting your spend on extras, thus reducing the cost of your holiday. We can give you an estimate of typical costs, depending on numbers and time of year.
A damages deposit of one third of the total rental figure is taken and refunded after your return, normally within 7 – 10 days, after deductions for any breakages or damage and all electricity, laundry etc and other extras used during your stay, all at cost.
