Puerto Banús is enormously attractive to visitors to Marbella. A heady mix of fast boats, glitzy shopping, expensive cars and even more expensive people - it's fun to just hang out and people watch sometimes.
There is a huge choice of lively bars, quality restaurants and late-night clubs to choose from - and in the summer, the port is more or less 24-hour partying ! In the winter less so, but it's still very pleasant to stroll around the shops, or watch the ritzy powerboats and yachts coming and going.

Lunch on the beach is a way of life in Marbella - whether you are visiting or live here permanently. So you quickly find your favourite stretch, your favourite bars and restaurants, and settle down for that 3-hour break in the afternoon. The quality of beach restaurants and service is improving all the time in Southern Spain, so you can now get fantastic quality in food and wine as you gaze out over the deep blue Mediterranean sea.

Other local attractions include Cabopino Port, a lively little area with several good restaurants, slightly cheaper boats (!) and a few good beaches.

And if you need something a bit more out of the way - go up the hill above Cabopino and Elviria to La Mairena - stunning views all along the coast in a beautifully tranquil location
